Acidic silicone sealant

Acidic Silicone Glass Sealant (Acidic Silicone Sealant) is a one-component, room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) silicone sealant widely used in construction, household, and industrial applications due to its low cost, fast curing, and strong adhesion.
Key Characteristics
Acidic Cure (Acetic Type)
Releases acetic acid during curing, producing a noticeable vinegar-like odor. It may corrode certain metals (e.g., copper, iron, aluminum) and stones (e.g., marble, concrete).
Suitable for: Glass, ceramics, PVC, wood, and other non-sensitive materials
Fast Curing
Tack-free time: Approximately 10-30 minutes (forms a surface film).
Full cure: 24-72 hours (depends on ambient temperature and humidity)
Excellent Adhesion
Strong bonding to glass, tiles, plastics, wood, etc., making it widely used for sealing windows, doors, and bathrooms
Strong Weather Resistance
Resistant to UV rays, high and low temperatures (-50°C ~ 200°C), suitable for outdoor use (e.g., glass curtain walls, sunrooms)
Waterproof and Mold Resistant
Impermeable to water. Some products contain fungicides, making them suitable for damp environments (e.g., bathrooms, kitchens)
Good Elasticity
Remains flexible after curing, accommodating thermal expansion and contraction of substrates (movement capability approx. ±10%)
Primary Applications
Construction & Decoration
Installation and sealing of door and window glass
Waterproofing joints in glass curtain walls and sunrooms
Leak prevention for tiles and sanitary ware (e.g., sink counters, toilet bases)
Bonding and sealing aquariums
Household Repairs
Fixing mirrors and glass ornaments
Sealing pipe and drain connections
Industrial Applications
Temporary sealing for automotive lights and ventilation ducts
Edge waterproofing for advertising boards and solar panels
Usage Precautions
Avoid Corrosive Materials
Marble, granite, concrete (acidic components can corrode the surface)
Copper, aluminum, iron, and other metals (may cause rust or oxidation over time)
Electronic components (acetic acid vapor may corrode circuits)
Not recommended for:
Compatible materials: Glass, ceramics, PVC, wood, stainless steel (430/304)
Surface Preparation
Substrates must be clean, dry, and free of oil/grease, otherwise adhesion will be compromised
Smooth surfaces (e.g., glass) can be wiped with alcohol first
Application Environment
Recommended application temperature: 5°C ~ 40°C; humidity: 40% ~ 80%
Maintain ventilation during curing to reduce irritation from acetic acid odor
Curing Time
Avoid water contact for the first 24 hours. Allow 72 hours for full cure before subjecting to pressure
Safety Protection
Avoid contact with skin or eyes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water
Cured sealant is non-toxic, but uncured acetic acid may irritate the respiratory tract
Acidic silicone glass sealant is suitable for low-cost, fast-curing general sealing needs, but material compatibility must be considered to avoid corrosion issues
